When a storm rolls across the plains, many animals instinctively run. They flee in the same direction the storm is moving, which means they stay inside it longer—sometimes for days.

Buffalo do something different. They turn and face the storm, charging directly into it because the only way to the other side is through.

I've come to believe life asks the same of us.

Some of the greatest shifts in our lives don't happen by avoiding what's difficult. They begin the moment we choose to face it.

This is not just a metaphor for me. This is the medicine I carry, and it's the energy I bring to every person, every leader, every retreat, and every team I have the privilege of working with.

You cannot outrun your feelings.

For years, I believed the answer was to keep moving. Achieve more. Do more. Become more. But clarity didn't come until I stopped running, turned inward, and listened to what was asking for my attention.

Today, I experience life differently.

Maybe you're in one of those seasons right now.

The kind where you're second-guessing every decision, where your mind won't stop spinning, or where you're carrying the weight of everyone else while quietly wondering when it will finally feel easier. Or maybe life looks exceptional on paper, but inside you're exhausted and running on empty. Tired of overthinking. Tired of people-pleasing. Tired of wondering why you keep ending up in the same patterns despite all the books you've read, podcasts you've listened to, and work you've already done.

I know those seasons well. They're what first taught me that contrast isn't something to fear—it's something to become curious about. Because when we slow down long enough to understand what's really happening beneath the surface, everything begins to shift.

You begin trusting yourself again. Decisions feel clearer. The noise starts to settle. You reconnect with who you are beneath all the roles you've been carrying and begin creating a life that feels aligned with what you truly want—not just what's expected of you.

Because while we can't always choose the season we're in, we can choose how we move through it.

And that's where joy, clarity, and alignment begin.

HI, I'M
Chantal.

I work with people, leaders, and teams who are high functioning, deeply committed, and know something needs to shift.

I’m the founder of InnerShifts, and as a Workplace Well-being and Joy Facilitator, I create experiences that help people reconnect with themselves so they can live, work, and lead with greater clarity, resilience, and joy.

My Story

There was a season when I couldn't remember what joy felt like. In May of 2016, the Fort McMurray wildfires took three of our properties. My husband and I were running a business, raising kids, wearing dozens of hats. My nervous system was so shattered I didn't even know what okay felt like anymore.

I wasn't broken. But I was buried.

I spent years helping everyone else find their footing before I found mine. And somewhere in that unraveling, not at the end of it, but right in the middle of it, I started coming back to myself. Not by pushing harder. Not by fixing everything. By finally getting quiet enough to hear what I already knew.

That's when everything changed. Not overnight. But over time. And walking that path is exactly why I can walk it with you.

What I know now

Joy is not a reward for when life finally calms down. It's not toxic positivity or a highlight reel. It's a frequency. A way of operating that makes hard things survivable and meaningful things sustainable.

When you feel connected to yourself, everything shifts. Your work gets clearer. Your decisions feel aligned. Your relationships deepen. Life feels more spacious, even when it's full.

This is true whether you're navigating a major life transition, an entrepreneur running on empty, or a leader ready to stop burning through your people. Joy isn't a bonus. It's the foundation everything else is built on.

How I work

I don't fix or rescue people. I create the conditions for real shifts to happen.

My work is rooted in The Joy Method™—helping people notice where they are, understand what's keeping them stuck, and move toward inspired, intentional action. We don't dance around the hard stuff. We work with it. And you leave with practical tools you can actually use.

For more than two decades, I worked in Human Resources, leadership, and organizational development. During that time, I learned something that no policy, strategy, or performance plan could change:

You cannot outperform your feelings.

People don't leave themselves at the door when they come to work. Stress follows them into meetings. Grief sits beside them at their desk. Burnout influences their decisions. Disconnection affects performance, relationships, creativity, and leadership.

That's why my work translates so naturally from individuals to organizations. Whether I'm supporting one person or an entire leadership team, the work is the same—helping people reconnect with themselves so they can lead, communicate, collaborate, and perform from a place of clarity rather than survival.

Today, I bring together more than 20 years of HR and leadership experience with certifications in workplace well-being and performance, joy facilitation, breathwork, meditation, and transformational practices to create experiences that are both deeply human and highly practical.
